PART # ACC-102026 - CMET400
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
PARTS INCLUDED:
2-Stainless Exhaust Tips
4-1/2” Long 3/16th Stainless Rivets
2-Stainless Trim Rings
1-Adhesive Promoter Tube
These
beautiful exhaust tips are made of a high quality 304 stainless steel highly
polished to a mirror finish. They are designed to mount to the factory tail
pipe and can be permanently installed using common tools.
-
Slip
the new tip over the factory tail pipe as far back as it will go or as
far back as you would like it. Rotate the tip to your liking and then
pilot one of the two far back holes on the under side of the new tip
with a 3/16’’ drill bit.
-
You
have been provided with two ½” long 3/16th stainless rivets
for each tip. Once you have one hole piloted set one of the rivets into
the hole and then set it with your rivet tool. Once you have the first
rivet installed drill the second hole and then insert and install the
second rivet to finish the tip installation. The remaining hole close to
the tips end is a weep hole for condensation. Repeat the installation
procedure for the remaining tip to finish the installation.
-
You
have been provided with two stainless exhaust trim rings. These rings
are designed to fit directly to the factory rear valance. Oval in shape
their placement will be self evident.
-
Thoroughly scrub clean the oval area over each of the two exhaust tip
openings with household rubbing alcohol to remove any and all dirt and
wax.
-
Next
swipe the two areas with the adhesive promoter provided.
IMPORTANT: Before you permanently stick the new trim rings, place
them in position to determine how to shape them so that the contour to
the factory valance perfectly.
Doing this will prevent lifting long term. Once you are satisfied with
the shape and contour of the rings simply peel the red release liner
from the back of the rings and then carefully position them in place
pressing firmly to set.
